Spanish for travel, ready before your trip is

1on1Spanish gives you private Spanish lessons with qualified native teachers, online across the United States. You bring the destination and the date; your teacher builds the lessons around what you are actually going to do there.

Nobody learns a language in six weeks. You can absolutely learn the fifty conversations of a trip.

You already know the words. The problem is the reply.

Most people going somewhere Spanish-speaking can order a coffee. What stops them is what comes back: the speed of it, the accent, the two words they have never heard before, and the pause where they have to decide whether to admit they missed it.

An app will not fix that, because an app never interrupts you and never answers faster than you expected. Only a person does that.

Which is the whole point of practising with one before you go.

The conversations you will actually have

A two-week trip is not an unlimited number of situations. It is roughly the same handful, over and over, and they can be rehearsed.

  • Arriving

The taxi, the check-in, the deposit you did not expect to be asked for, and the question about how many nights. Getting these right in the first hour sets the tone for the whole trip.

  • Eating

Not reading a menu — asking what a dish is, saying what you cannot eat, and understanding the answer well enough to decide. This is where most travellers give up and point.

  • Going wrong

The bus that did not come, the room with no hot water, the pharmacy at ten at night. You need very little Spanish for these, but you need it immediately.

Travel Spanish, taught in the accent of where you are going

Our teachers are from Spain and from Latin America, and that is not a detail on a trip. The Spanish of Mexico City and the Spanish of Madrid differ in the exact places a traveller needs: how you address a stranger, how you ask for the bill, which everyday nouns change entirely.

Tell us where you are going and you get a teacher from there, or from as close as the calendar allows. You practise the accent you will be standing in front of.

And because every lesson is one-on-one, the vocabulary follows the trip. Two weeks driving through Andalusia and ten days on business in Bogotá are not the same list of words, and there is no syllabus here forcing them to be.

Spanish for vacation when the trip is close

If you fly in three weeks, say so in the first lesson. The plan changes: less grammar, more of the twenty exchanges you are going to repeat every day, and enough listening practice that native speed stops being a wall.

Three lessons a week is not excessive when there is a date. Neither is dropping to one a month afterwards, or stopping altogether — the plans are monthly and you cancel when you want.

Everything runs in your browser, like the rest of our online Spanish classes, so the lessons carry on from the hotel if you want to keep going while you are there.

Trips end and the Spanish does not have to. The same teachers and the same short lessons are how people carry on afterwards with online Spanish lessons with a native teacher, minus the deadline.

What happens between lessons

Every plan includes unlimited practice with an AI partner, and for a trip that turns out to be the useful part: you can run the same restaurant conversation eleven times at eleven at night without booking anyone or embarrassing yourself.

It corrects you as you go, and your teacher sees where you keep slipping. That is what shapes the next lesson, the same way it does in every other kind of Spanish lessons we run.

The AI is for repetition. The teacher is for everything repetition cannot fix.

What travel Spanish lessons cost

Plans run from $84 a month for one lesson a week up to $264 a month for four. Every plan is one-on-one, 25 minutes, with a qualified native teacher. Book any teacher, any available slot. No weekly caps.

There is no travel package and no course to buy. It is the same teachers and the same monthly plans as everyone else, and you choose how often you speak.

Every plan includes unlimited AI practice with our conversation partner, for the days between lessons.

Your first month is $1 — on any plan.

Questions people ask before a trip

How much Spanish can I learn before my trip?

Enough to handle the situations you can name in advance, which is most of them. Six weeks of two lessons a week gets a beginner through arriving, eating, shopping, asking for directions and sorting out a problem. It will not make you fluent, and anyone promising that is selling you something.

What is the difference between travel Spanish and regular Spanish lessons?

The selection, not the language. A travel-focused plan spends its time on the exchanges you are going to repeat daily and on understanding fast replies, and it skips the grammar you can live without for a fortnight. Everything is one-on-one, so that selection is simply what your teacher decides to spend the twenty-five minutes on.

Will I be taught the right accent for the country I am visiting?

Where we can, yes. Our teachers are native speakers from Spain and from across Latin America, and we match you to your destination when the schedule allows. Tell us the country in your level test and it becomes part of the match.

Can I keep taking lessons while I am travelling?

Yes. Lessons run in a browser on any device and you book the times you want, so people take them from hotels and apartments regularly. It is also the best week of the whole plan to have a teacher, because you arrive at the lesson with real questions from that morning.

I only have a few weeks. Is it worth starting?

Yes, if you keep the goal honest. In a few weeks you can stop being someone who points at a menu and become someone who asks a question and understands the answer. That is a small change in Spanish and an enormous one in how the trip feels.
