HOW IT WORKS

- Discover your real level Have a short conversation with one of our teachers. We assess your speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar. Free · No credit card required
- Meet your teacher We match you with a qualified native teacher based on your level, goals and preferred accent. Choose Spanish from: Mexico · Latin America · Spain
- Speak for 25 minutes Your lesson combines useful vocabulary, grammar and real conversation, focused on the situations that matter to you.
- Receive personal feedback After every lesson you receive the vocabulary you used, corrections, pronunciation guidance and what to practice next.
- Keep practicing with AI Continue the conversation with your AI practice partner: vocabulary, role play and everyday situations, as long as you like.
Human teaching.
Intelligent practice.
Apps are useful for learning words. AI is useful for practicing repeatedly.
But neither replaces a qualified teacher who understands you, corrects you and knows when you need encouragement.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Everything people ask before their first lesson
How much do Spanish lessons cost at 1on1Spanish?
Plans start at $84 a month for one 25-minute lesson a week, and go up to $264 a month for four lessons a week. Every plan is one-on-one with a qualified native teacher, and you can book any teacher, any available slot, with no weekly caps. Your first month is $1 on any plan.
Are 25-minute Spanish lessons long enough to make progress?
Yes, if they're frequent. Twenty-five minutes is long enough for a real conversation and short enough that you'll actually keep the appointment. Four 25-minute lessons a week give you four separate chances to speak, which builds more fluency than one long lesson you skip when work gets busy.
How long does it take to learn conversational Spanish?
The US Foreign Service Institute estimates 600-750 class hours for an English speaker to reach professional working proficiency in Spanish. Conversational comfort comes much sooner: students who speak several times a week can usually hold a basic conversation within a few months. Frequency matters more than session length, which is why 1on1Spanish is built around short lessons you can actually keep.
What is the best way to learn Spanish online?
Speaking with a real person, often. Apps are useful for vocabulary and drills, but conversation is a skill you only build by having conversations. The setup that works is regular one-on-one lessons with a qualified native teacher plus practice between them - which is exactly how 1on1Spanish works: 25-minute private lessons and an unlimited AI practice partner for the days in between.
Do I get the same teacher every lesson?
Not necessarily, and it works better that way. You book the teacher available in the slot you want, so over a month you'll work with more than one. Every one of them opens your record before the lesson - what you've covered, what you struggle with, what to do next - so you never start a lesson by explaining yourself again. Different voices and accents are also what Spanish sounds like outside a classroom.
What happens in the free level test?
It's a short conversation with a teacher, online, and no card is needed. A teacher talks with you in Spanish and English, finds out what you can already do and where the gaps are, and tells you which plan makes sense. You'll get the result whether or not you sign up.
Can I cancel my plan?
Yes. No contracts and no minimum term. You can cancel your plan at any time from your account. If you cancel during your $1 first month, you've paid a dollar.
Do I need to know any Spanish to start?
No. Teachers work with complete beginners as well as people who studied years ago and stopped. The level test exists so your first lesson starts at the right place instead of wasting it on assessment.
